Meet the Team
Here at Wearwell, we are proud to have a dedicated team committed to providing exceptional service and products to our clients.
As the average week at Wearwell HQ is so busy, we seldom get the opportunity to convey exactly who the people are that keep our business wheels turning or the role they play to make our business successful, so we’ve decided to use our blog to introduce a couple of them to you.
This month, we’ll be saying hello to Steve Hill and finding out a little more about his role.
What is your job title?
I’m the Sales and Service Director here at Wearwell. It’s a busy job that keeps me on my toes, but I enjoy coming to work each day.
When did you join Wearwell?
I’ve been with the company since 2015, so you could say I’m almost part of the furniture!
What are you responsible for?
The main elements of my role include generating sales from new and existing customers, which is great because I get to speak to clients and potential customers from a wide range of industries that have specific PPE and garment needs.
I also provide technical advice on garments and fabrics to make sure that anything they order from us meets their needs and health and safety responsibilities. Customer satisfaction is also important to me, so I tend to keep in regular contact with our customer base to ensure that they are satisfied with our service.
What’s a typical day like?
Busy! On an average day, I usually spend a few hours completing sales quotations, but the bulk of my day involves building relationships with all customers via email, phone or visits.
I also get to work with my Wearwell colleagues to achieve common objectives, such as a new product launch or updating the website with technical information.
What’s your favourite part of the job?
By far my favourite part of my job is visiting customers to promote Wearwell. Not only do I get to meet some great people who work in various industries, but it also gives me a unique insight into their PPE and garment needs which I can then use to create a tailored quotation.
If you could do any other job at Wearwell, what would it be and why?
I wouldn’t mind working in the warehouse for a while – I could use the exercise!
If you could only wear one Wearwell garment for the rest of the year, what would it be?
That’s a tough one, but I’d have to say the new Tecwear Multinorm Boilersuit.
Manufactured by Wearwell, this garment is impervious to pretty much everything and has been specifically designed to protect the wearer from heat and flame, chemical splashes, weld spatter and provided additional protection from arc flash and static build-up.
It’s also durable and hardwearing, so I know it’s the garment I’d choose if I was working out on site.
What’s the best thing / most interesting thing you have learnt during your time at Wearwell?
You need a good team of people to help you achieve your goals. Luckily, we’ve got a really hardworking and committed team here Wearwell, and they make coming to work each day a pleasure.
What advice do you have for anyone wanting to get into a similar role?
Ask if there is a possibility of a secondment role within your organisation which will enable you to learn new skills for career development. This will help you determine if this is the right move before making a permanent leap.
