Wearwell’s Carl Rooney Honoured with Lifetime Achievement Award by PCIAW®
The retired Wearwell director, Carl Rooney has been honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Professional Clothing Industry Association Worldwide.
The PCIAW® panel recognised the enormous contribution that the former director made during his decades long career, much of which was spent at Wearwell, one of the UK’s oldest manufacturers of workwear.
Explaining why Carl beat out other nominees to pick up the prestigious accolade, the judges noted, “He is admired for his encyclopaedic product knowledge. His dedication to the theme of wearer safety at Wearwell has shaped the PPE and workwear industry, while his impartial advice and personable approach have made him many lifelong friends across the industry.”
Yvette Ashby, CEO and founder of PCIAW®, congratulated Carl on his well-earned win: “This year’s PCIAW® Awards competition reached new heights, with an even wider range of global entrants, all of whom displayed an exceptional amount of talent and ingenuity.
