Wearwell Starts 2019 With Trio of New Contracts

Workwear leaders, Wearwell are starting 2019 on a high after securing three big new contracts in a trio of notable client wins and confirming a record period of growth.

The Tamworth firm, which is one of the oldest workwear manufacturers in the country, has won a series of competitive tenders which will see it supplying workwear products to European energy company, RWE, the Great Exhibition of the North and the University of Northampton.

Held in Newcastle and Gateshead, the Great Exhibition of the North was a summer win, and saw Wearwell outfitting all Exhibition staff and volunteers with a range of garments including high-vis clothing, polo shirts, jackets and jumpers. The two-month festival brought thousands of people together for a full program of live events, exhibitions, live performances, artwork and experiences.

RWE, the UK’s second largest generator, selected Wearwell as its workwear partner in the UK. Wearwell will supply protective coveralls trouser and Jackets to their UK network of power station for 3 years.  RWE supplies over 10% of the UK’s electricity with over 8.5GW of installed capacity.  The portfolio includes the UK’s largest fleet of gas-powered stations, along with some coal and a small amount of biomass.

Wearwell CEO, Richard Wright said, “Wearwell has shown this year that we are truly one of the leading workwear companies in the UK – our clutch of new contract wins is a wonderful way to end what has been a stellar year for growth and client acquisition. We’re delighted to welcome RWE, the University of Northampton and the Great Exhibition of the North and look forward to working closely with them in 2019.”

In addition to its new contracts and record growth, the Tamworth-based manufacturer has just finished a factory refurb and has a packed year ahead with several new products set to launch imminently.
