British Superbikes Championship Race Report Round 2 and 3

Over the next few months, we’ll be keeping you updated on all the action unfolding in the British Superbikes Championship. The races, which will progress in rounds until the 16th of October, are promising to be an action-packed, exciting affair that is garnering attention from around the globe.

As the official workwear supplier for the marshals, safety and event staff at each race, we’ll be following along with every round and reporting back on the most important news.

Here’s what you missed in rounds 2 and 3 of the Championship races.

Jason O'Halloran sets new all-time lap record

In very exciting news, Jason O'Halloran had many reasons to celebrate during the third round of races as he won the Milwaukee King of Donington trophy in style.

Despite Kyle Ryde taking an early lead, and Bradley Ray proving to be a serious contender for first place, O'Halloran was able to hold his own and snatch the lead on lap 17.

This now pushes O'Halloran up to second place in the overall race rankings, putting him in a strong position to enter the next race at Knockhill.

On top of the race win, O'Halloran broke the record for the fastest Bennetts British Superbike Championship lap of the Donington Park National circuit with a time of 1:05.479.

Crash at the Quattro Group British Supersport Championship

In unfortunate news, there was a very nasty accident at the Quattro Group British Supersport Championship involving rider Josh Day.

The accident occurred at the end of the opening lap where Day collided with fellow rider, David Jones, in the final turn.

Luckily the Herock Racesafe marshals and the BSB medical team were right there to respond to the incident in a quick and safe manner.

The crash left Day with a significant head injury and the rider was placed in a medically-induced coma.

According to the latest statements by MSVR, Day has now had his sedation decreased which has allowed him to wake up.
